Feel like pissing off PC gamers and losing their trust? Hanger 13 and 2K Games, the developer and publisher for Mafia 3, are currently teaching a course on the subject. Ever since gamers found out that Mafia 3 was capped at 30 FPS, the internet has been sharing their thoughts, and as you may have guessed, not a lot are positive. PC players are currently experiencing Mafia 3 at PS3 frame rates, and 2K has promised to fix the problem as early as this weekend.
Because we at LevelCamp are so addicted to Twitter, I wanted to share with you some of our favorite tweets regarding Mafia 3 and the 30 FPS cap.
after 3hrs gameplay #Mafia3 is an excellent game ruined by FPS. Hopefully put right soon! Why don't developers sort this for realese— Danny Cooper (@dan1el88) October 7, 2016
Well i was going to purchase #Mafia3 until I found out its locked at 30fps. No thanks. This isn't 2004. 100+fps or no go— Tyler Smith (@TJ_Smizzy) October 7, 2016
If you won't play #Mafia3 on PC because it's at 30 FPS then you are a total fucking idiot. More FPS is nice, it's not the only factor.— Stvee1 (@Stevewith5Es) October 7, 2016
If you're catering a game for the PC Crowd and then locked your game at 30 FPS in 2016, you're doing something wrong. No thanks.#Mafia3— Nephilim (@N3ph1lim) October 6, 2016
As you can see, not the most positive vibes in the early going for Mafia 3, and while PC gamers have every right to vote with their wallets, it’s a shame. I can’t help but think that there might be a good game hiding in there somewhere. I also can’t help but believe that this issue could have been avoided had 2K Games made the right call and released the PC version of Mafia 3 in a condition that meets the expectations of PC players.
