Watch The Civilization VI Launch Trailer

The much anticipated Civilization VI launches later this week.

Civilization VI doesn’t launch until this upcoming Friday, but you can get a sneak peek at some of the wonders the game will contain courtesy of its official launch trailer which was recently posted by publisher 2K and developer Firaxis Games.

While the trailer doesn’t feature any direct gameplay, it does show an intrepid explorer navigating his way through several iconic moments in history. This montage is essentially meant to convey just how much human history Civilization VI players will get to experience during their time in the game.

The historic montage is also punctuated by the immersive ‘Sogno di Volare’ musical piece which will serve as the game’s opening theme music and was composed by award-winning composer Christopher Tin who also provided the ‘Baba Yetu’ theme music for Civilization IV. Lastly, the trailer closes out with narration from acclaimed actor Sean Bean who will also serve as the narrator for certain portions of Civilization VI’s in-game written text.

Civilization VI will launch worldwide on Friday, October 21st, and those who preordered the game via Steam can now pre-load it so that it’s ready to go on the day of release. All pre-order customers will be granted early access to the Aztec Civilization Pack which includes unique Aztec units and buildings as well as the civilization leader Montezuma. The Aztec Civilization Pack will become available as a free download to all Civilization VI players 90 days after the game launches. More information can be found on the official Civilization website.
