Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare doesn’t arrive for another few weeks, which means Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is still the newest Call of Duty game that is currently available. Developer Treyarch is making the most of this, releasing a new patch for Black Ops 3 which, among other things, adds four new weapons into the game’s competitive multiplayer component.
The four new weapons have yet to be officially revealed (the reveal will likely happen later today or sometime during this week), but third-party data mining has uncovered info suggesting that the weapons will consist of a new SMG, a new Special Secondary weapon, and two new melee weapon variants.
The new SMG is the DIY 11 Renovator, a combat-modified nail gun which should remind old-school players of the good old days of Quake. Meanwhile, the Special Secondary is the D13 Sector, a single-shot blade launcher whose circular blades can ricochet off walls and score multiple kills in close quarters. As for the new melee variants, they appear to be a prosthetic arm (which was likely ripped off an unfortunate mannequin or robot), and a futuristic-looking caestus.
In regards to the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 patch, it is live now on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One (PC is expected to follow shortly). The full patch notes can be found on Activision’s website for both PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
