Just in time for the spookiest holiday of the year, Valve has kicked off a Halloween-themed sale on Steam that slashes the prices of many different horror-themed games and movies (yes, you can buy movies through Steam now too).
The game deals aren’t terribly spectacular, but if there’s a particular horror game you’ve been eyeing as of late, chances are good it has had its price reduced for the sale. Highlights include the original Outlast and Amnesia: The Dark Descent, both having their prices reduced to $4.99.
Additionally, SOMA is up for grabs at $11.99, Darkest Dungeon for $14.99, The Secret World for $8.99, and the asymmetrical multiplayer title Dead by Daylight (which recently got a new Michael Meyers Halloween update) for $13.99.
As for the horror-themed movies on sale, there’s a decent mix of classics (Evil Dead 2, American Psycho, The Blair Witch Project) among more recent titles (I, Frankenstein, Sinister, the entire seven-part Saw series), each of which is available for less than six dollars (with some being as cheap as $0.99).
Valve even added a third bonus section of the sale which offers discounts for all of the non-horror Steam games to have received some sort of Halloween update such as Payday 2, SUPERHOT, The Long Dark, and more.
