Hitman: Episode 6 - All Japan Opportunities

Learn how to complete all Opportunities in the Japan location of Hitman.

This guide will show players how to complete all seven opportunities in the Situs Inversus mission located in Hokkaido, Japan. However, we will not be showing you how to kill the targets in this walkthrough. If that's your thing, and it probably is since you're playing Hitman, you can start by reading our Hitman: Japan - Silent Assassin, Suit Only Walkthrough

Opportunity: No Smoking

Begin by exiting your room and turning right. Run down the hall and turn right again, moving down a ramp and out to the lift that’s delivering Yuki Yamazaki. When you reach the platform, ignore Yuki Yamazaki and turn right, looking in the corner for a Lead Pipe. Take it and conceal it, then listen to the two NPCs having a conversation about Yamazaki’s cigarettes. When the conversation ends, track the opportunity. If you want to save some time, you can track the Opportunity from the moment you spawn into the level and skip directly to the first objective.

Search the Texan’s Room for Cigarettes

Hop this railing and shimmy to the left until you can climb on to the Texan's balcony.
Hop this railing and shimmy to the left until you can climb on to the Texan's balcony.

Leave the lift area and go back up the ramp, turning left and heading back into your room. Vault over the railing of your balcony and shimmy to your left, which is west. You’ll be able to reach the balcony of the patient in the suite next to you, and inside his room is the pack of cigarettes that you need. You should also grab the Cowboy Bust on the table to make the next part easier, but it’s not required. Exit this suite through the main door instead of using the railing to get back to your room.

Replace Yuki’s Empty Pack of Cigarettes

Distract one NPC with the Lead Pipe, and then deal with the other quickly.
Once you replace Yuki Yamazaki's cigarettes, the Opportunity is complete.

Once in the corridor outside the room, turn right and head back to the lift area where you first listened to the NPCs talking about Yamazaki’s cigarettes. Stand behind them and toss the Lead Pipe near the railing to the south. As soon as one man moves to investigate, subdue the other. You can sneak behind the second NPC and subdue him as well, or you can throw the Cowboy Bust at his head. Change into the Bodyguard disguise, grab all the dropped weapons, and then get rid of the bodies. You can either toss them over the railing if you don’t care about killing civilians, or you can drag them to the corner where you snagged the Lead Pipe.

Head back up the ramp and turn right again, moving along until you are close to Yuki Yamazaki’s room. You can walk right inside with the disguise that you’re wearing. There will be two guards on the sofa and two on the balcony, but none of them should bother you. Approach the cigarettes on the table in the living area and replace them. The guards might mention something, but you can just walk away and ignore them entirely.

Opportunity: Malpractice

As soon as you spawn in, leave your room and turn right. Take your first left and go up the ramp. Head outside to the winter garden area, moving to the far west side and near the railing. Grab the Hammer from the nearby toolbox, and then climb down and descend the pipe. After a short distance, shimmy left and climb back up. When the guard to the north heads back up the steps, let him pass you before going down the steps yourself and around the corner.

Sneak behind this guy and then duck into the room on the right.
Sneak behind this guy and then duck into the room on the right.

You’ll soon see another man up ahead, and it’s worth noting that the has cigarettes that you could snag for the No Smoking Opportunity, but we’re leaving him alone for this one.  When he heads back up the steps, sneak that way and duck into the room on the right about halfway up the stairs. There’s a dude who is sleeping inside, and whether you leave him sleeping or smack him with the Hammer is your call. If it’s the latter, stuff him in the nearby container and pick up his dropped Bartoli 75R.

Snap to cover on the right side of the door and wait. Eventually the helicopter pilot will make his way down to the door, and Diana Burnwood will reveal the Malpractice Opportunity to you.

Get the Pilot’s Disguise

Grab the Helicopter Pilot as he enters the room to avoid being spotted.
Grab the Helicopter Pilot as he enters the room to avoid being spotted.

As soon as he tries to enter the room, subdue the Helicopter Pilot from your position of cover, dragging him into the room with you. Stuff him in the locker and change into the Helicopter Pilot disguise. If the dude sleeping happened to wake up, you’ll have to deal with him quickly, but he will have already spotted you.

Meet with the Chief Surgeon

Head up to the helicopter landing pad and wait for the Chief Surgeon.
Head up to the helicopter landing pad and wait for the Chief Surgeon.

With all dead or unconscious people hidden (or still sleeping in their chairs), and you disguised as the Helicopter Pilot, leave the room and turn right, going up the stairs and to the marker on the helicopter landing pad. Nobody up here will be able to see through your disguise.

Wait for the Chief Surgeon

It might take a few minutes, but the Chief Surgeon will eventually come outside.
It might take a few minutes, but the Chief Surgeon will eventually come outside.

You’ll have three chatty security personnel standing in front of you, but they won’t bother you if you’re in the Helicopter Pilot disguise. It might take a few minutes, but eventually the Chief Surgeon will come outside looking for a fix.

Escort Chief Surgeon to the Stash

Take the Chief Surgeon back down to your room of doom.
Take the Chief Surgeon back down to your room of doom.

Once he finally makes his way outside, escort the Chief Surgeon to the stash. That is why it was important to make sure there were no bodies in the room. As you’d expect, he will not respond well if there are two unconscious (or dead) dudes on the floor.

Get the Chief Surgeon Disguise

Once you snag the Chief Surgeon disguise, the Malpractice Opportunity is complete.
Once you snag the Chief Surgeon disguise, the Malpractice Opportunity is complete.

Your final objective of the Opportunity is to get the Chief Surgeon disguise. This should be simple if you are alone in the room with him. Just sneak behind him and subdue him, or whack him in the head with any objects that you may have picked up on your journey thus far. From here, you’ll have quite a lot of access to one of your targets, Eric Soders.

Opportunity: Thrill Seeker

To find this Opportunity, crawl out of bed, leave your room and turn left. Follow the hall until you can turn right, doing so and going up the stairs. Instead of going through the double wooden doors in front of you, turn left at them and go into Sakura Sushi. Turn left in the restaurant, quickly moving behind the bar and going down the stairs. If you time it correctly, you won’t be spotted.

Choking one Chef out in this corner should allow you to remain undetected by the other.
Choking one Chef out in this corner should allow you to remain undetected by the other.

Once you’re in the kitchen, sneak behind the two employees and grab the Kitchen Knife from the counter. Toss it into the south corner of the room, and then subdue the Chef when he investigates. You can steal his Chef disguise and shove his body in the freezer, then sneak behind the second Chef and do the same. This area is now empty and should remain that way. Grab the Kitchen Knife off the floor.

Step outside and let the Opportunity reveal, although you don't actually have to.
Step outside and let the Opportunity reveal, although you don't actually have to.

Go out the north door of the kitchen and the Thrill Seeker Opportunity will officially reveal, but we’ve worked ahead a bit. Just listen to the dialogue and, when prompted, track the Opportunity.

Locate the Fugu Fish in the Kitchen

The walk-in freezer is in the kitchen where you just assaulted the two Chefs.
The walk-in freezer is in the kitchen where you just assaulted the two Chefs.

Go back into the kitchen and into the walk-in freezer. This is where you’ll find the fugu fish. It’s a simple step, but you’ll need the Kitchen Knife to complete the next one. If you don’t have it, go back into the kitchen (it’s about two feet away) and grab it.

Acquire the Fugu Fish Poison

This is a good way to acquire poison, for this Opportunity and others.
This is a good way to acquire poison, for this Opportunity and others.

If you have the Kitchen Knife, this is also a very simple step. Once you’ve located the fugu fish in the walk-in freezer, simply approach it and interact with it. You’ll chop it up and presumably acquire the poison you seek.

Poison the Sushi

Head upstairs when the coast is clear and poison the Sushi that Yuki Yamazaki wants to eat.
Head upstairs when the coast is clear and poison the Sushi that Yuki Yamazaki wants to eat.

Leave the walk-in freezer and head to the northeast side of the kitchen. You need to go upstairs, but make sure that the Chef up there isn’t looking your way. You can do this by activating your Instinct. When the coast is clear, head upstairs and cross the restaurant to the sushi bar on the northwest end. Once you’re behind the counter, interact with the sushi to poison it.

Prepare Sushi

Preparing the sushi will complete the Opportunity, but stick around to pull off the assassination.
Preparing the sushi will complete the Opportunity, but stick around to pull off the assassination.

No special tools are required here, but you better be in your Chef disguise. Interact with the sushi in front of you to prepare a poisoned batch. Nobody will notice what you’re doing, and then it’s just a matter of waiting for Yuki Yamazaki. The Thill Seeker Opportunity is complete, but if you wait for your target to arrive you’ll have the chance to kill her in a unique and unnoticed way.

Opportunity: Makeover

Having the Hammer makes the first part of this Opportunity easier.
Having the Hammer makes the first part of this Opportunity easier.

Begin this Opportunity by leaving your room, turning left, and then going right when you can. Run up the stairs and through the double doors to the winter garden area. Head to the southwest corner of the yard and grab the Hammer from the toolbox. Retrace your steps and go back inside, turning left and entering the bathroom.

Use the Hammer to get the occupant of the stall to investigate.
Use the Hammer to get the occupant of the stall to investigate.

Once in the bathroom, wait for the patient to turn his back, and then knock him out by throwing the hammer at his head. Drag his body into the empty stall (one of them is occupied) and hide it in the cabinet. Open the door to the other stall, then throw the Hammer on the floor to draw the occupant out. When you can get behind him, choke him out and hide his body in one of the cabinets located inside the stalls.

Listen closely and you can hear Jason Portman threaten Agent 47. Good luck with that, Portman.
Listen closely and you can hear Jason Portman threaten Agent 47. Good luck with that, Portman.

Exit the bathroom through either the east or west doors. If it’s west, turn left. If it’s east, turn right. You basically want to start doing a lap around the bathroom, bumping into Jason Portman. He will be in a robe and have bandages all over his face. You’ll know you’ve got the right guy because the Opportunity will reveal when you see him.

Disguise Yourself as Jason Portman

Crack Jason Portman in the head and take his disguise for smack talking you.
Crack Jason Portman in the head and take his disguise for smack talking you.

You can just hang around Jason Portman and listen to his conversation and phone call. Eventually, he will hang up the phone, go for a walk, and then enter the bathroom. This will take several minutes. Once in the bathroom, which is now clear from potential witnesses, choke him out and hide him inside one of the cabinets, then put on the VIP Patient (Portman) disguise yourself.

Wait for Jason Portman’s PA Announcement

You shouldn't have to wait long for the Jason Portman PA announcement.
You shouldn't have to wait long for the Jason Portman PA announcement.

Make sure everything is cleaned up in the bathroom, and then spend a moment or two waiting to hear Jason Portman’s name on the PA. We think the timing of this is trigged by when you get the disguise, so you shouldn’t have to wait long.

Meet with the Doctor

This doctor will escort you to a Surgeon, who you can choke out for his Surgeon disguise.
This doctor will escort you to a Surgeon, who you can choke out for his Surgeon disguise.

Head to the doors on the east side of the winter garden. If you’re tracking the opportunity, you’ll likely see a waypoint of where you need to be. Shortly after you arrive (or possibly before), a doctor will show up, ready to take you into the clinic for Jason Portman’s appointment.

Follow the Doctor

We recommend saving your game before trying to subdue the Surgeon. A lot can go wrong.
We recommend saving your game before trying to subdue this guy. A lot can go wrong.

You’re in for a bit of a walk, but all you must do to complete this Opportunity is follow the doctor. They will take you to a Surgeon, and get you close to Erich Soders. You should even get a bit of alone time with the Surgeon, so choking them out and taking their disguise is a real possibility. Once you have the Surgeon disguise, quite a few assassination opportunities are available.

Opportunity: Hot Springs

Turn right just after you pass this guard.
Turn right just after you pass this guard.

As with all our walkthrough content for Hitman, we’ll begin in your room and without any supplies. Leave your room and turn right, then turn left and run up the ramp. When you reach the top, turn right again, and then take another right just past the security office. Enter the Hot Spring spa that is north of your room and one level up.

You can pick up the Hot Springs Opportunity off this stool at the spa.
You can pick up the Hot Springs Opportunity off this stool at the spa.

Once you’re in the spa, go outside and you should see the Opportunity for Hot Springs. Just pick up the Yoga Schedule that’s on the stool and then track it.

Clear Out the Yoga Area

Drop down off the ledge in the winter garden area.
Drop down off the ledge in the winter garden area.

Exit the Hot Spring spa and head out into the winter garden. You’ll be going up the hill and dropping off the ledge on the southwest side of the area. Slide down the pipe and then crawl through the window. Exit that room through the door in front of you, then turn left and follow the hallway to a stairwell. Enter the stairwell and go up two flights of stairs, arriving at the Morgue area.

Go straight through the security office and to the Loading Bay.
Go straight through the office in front of you and to the Loading Bay.

Once you’re in the Morgue you’ll see two Morgue Doctors. When they turn their backs to you, sneak into the room and turn left, exiting through the sliding doors that lead to the Incinerators. Move through that room and exit through the doors that lead to the Mortuary Coolers. Turn right when you enter the Mortuary Coolers, sneaking behind the two Morgue Doctors and going through the door that leads to an office. Pass through the office, going down the steps and following the corridor to the Loading Bay.

Grab the Handyman disguise and snag the Wrench from the work table.
Grab the Handyman disguise and snag the Wrench from the work table.

Go outside, and then go through the door on your right. Subdue the woman with her back to you, and then do the same thing to the man working on the snowmobile. Stuff both in the wooden crate near the back of the snowmobile, changing your disguise to the Handyman. Oh, and grab the Wrench from the work table near the snowmobile. That’s mandatory.

Turning off the water clears out the spa so you can be alone with Yuki Yamazaki.
Turning off the water clears out the spa so you can be alone with Yuki Yamazaki.

Go through the door on the northeast side of the garage you’re in. This will lead to a corridor with some stairs. Follow it all the way to the end, through the door, and then take the door on your left to get back into the Hot Spring spa. Once you’re in, go through another door on your left, then turn right and go through the door in front of you. You’ll now be able to use the Wrench to turn off the colder water.

Get the Yoga Instructor Disguise

Subdue or knock out the Yoga Instructor, then take his disguise.
Subdue or knock out the Yoga Instructor, then take his disguise.

Retrace your steps until you’re back in the garage area, and then wait for the Yoga Instructor. When he arrives, toss an object in the southwest corner of the garage to lure him over there, then subdue him and take the Yoga Instructor disguise. There’s nowhere to hide the body right now, but it won’t be found now that you’ve cleaned this area out.

Approach Yuki Yamazaki

If your run was as smooth as ours, Yuki Yamazaki will be in the Hot Springs spa already.
If your run was as smooth as ours, Yuki Yamazaki will be in the Hot Springs spa already.

Now that you have the disguise, head back into the Hot Springs spa if that’s where Yuki Yamazaki is. If she isn’t there, go find her and then talk to her. She has an extensive route, but you should have an objective marker giving away her location. If your timing is as good as ours, she’ll be in the Hot Springs spa.

Escort Yuki to the Spa

We aren't going to tell you here, but you can see where this is going, right?
We aren't going to tell you here, but you can see where this is going, right?

Depending on where you caught up to Yuki Yamazaki, this could take a few seconds, or a couple of minutes. Either way, just walk with your target until you reach the objective marker outside of the Hot Springs spa where you originally started this Opportunity. In fact, this will complete the Hot Springs Opportunity, but if you continue to play along you’ll get one of the coolest kill opportunities in Hitman.

We're still grinding away at this guide, but for now you should take a few minutes to see how Hitman Took a Shot at Donald Trump.
