Listen To The Outsider's New Voice In Latest Dishonored 2 Trailer

A noticeable change from the first game

Bethesda and Arkane Studios have released yet another new trailer for Dishonored 2, this time presenting a stylized prologue of sorts that features narration from the mysterious entity known as The Outsider…only he doesn’t sound quite the same.

The trailer, titled “Book of Karnaca,” sets the stage for the game by using a cool shifting pop-up book theme, which gives viewers a rundown of the major characters and plot points. Narrating the trailer is Robin Lord Taylor (perhaps best known for his role as The Penguin in FOX's hit show Gotham), who has taken over as the voice of The Outsider, replacing voice actor Billy Lush who voiced the character in the first Dishonored game.

While Taylor certainly does a decent job of expressing The Outsider’s enigmatic gravitas, some fans aren’t happy with the change, saying that Lush’s Outsider sounded suave and cunning, while Taylor’s sounds more like an angsty teenager. It doesn’t help that Lush was apparently fired from the role without explanation after he voiced The Outsider for Dishonored 2’s E3 2015 reveal trailer and was quickly replaced by Taylor.

Like it or not, fans will get to hear more of Taylor’s take on The Outsider when Dishonored 2 launches on November 11th.
