Top 5 Best Zombie Games Coming in 2017 to PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.

With 2017 upon us, games are going to be releasing soon and it’s time to prep for what's to come. Whether you are a strategy player or the casual gamer, zombie games always serve as a great way to relieve your stress and have fun while killing hordes of flesh-eating monsters. We took it upon ourselves to list the most important zombie games to look forward to releasing in 2017.

Dead Island 2

At the top of our list is an upcoming action role-playing survival horror video game developed by Sumo Digital. This title is the sequel to the 2011 video game, Dead Island and third major installment in the Dead Island series. Dead Island 2’s main storyline is set several months after the events of Dead Island and Escape Dead Island unlike its predecessors, which took place on islands, Dead Island 2 will take place in California. Nicknamed the grand theft auto of zombie games, Dead Island 2 will feature an new open world. The game’s release date has not been announced yet but hopefully it will be coming out this year to all systems. Checkout the trailer below to learn more about the game.

Days Gone

Second on our list is an open world action-adventure survival horror video game currently being developed by SIE Bend Studio for the PS4. This title will be the first intellectual property created by SIE Bend Studio since Syphon Filter in 1999. This game is set in an open world zombie post-apocalyptic environment played from a third-person perspective. Players control Deacon St. John who is a drifter and former bounty hunter that prefers to live a dangerous life on the road over living in wilderness encampments. The game takes place two years after a global pandemic occurred which killed almost all of humanity and transformed millions into zombies, also known as “Freakers”. The game is set to release to PlayStation 4 exclusively on December 26th, 2017.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard

Surely, this one is a no-brainer to be on our list. As the eleventh entry into the main Resident Evil series, and the first main series installment to be played from a first-person perspective, this game is the answer to the community’s prayers. Currently in development by Capcom, this title is set approximately 4 years after the events of Resident Evil 6 in the fictional city of Dulvey. It features a new protagonist named Ethan Winters who is a civilian that offers fewer combat skills than most previous Resident Evil main characters. Ethan’s goal is to find his missing wife, Mia, which leads him to a derelict plantation mansion, home of the Baker family. Many cameos will be made connecting the previous games to this storyline but the game will feature an entirely new cast of characters. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is set to release January 24th to Playstation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows.

Overkill’s The Walking Dead

Overkill’s The Walking Dead is an upcoming video game developed by Overkill Software, the same company that made the Payday series. It was announced on August 13, 2014 but release has been pushed back to the 1st or 2nd quarter of 2017. This game is a co-op first person shooter with elements of action, role-playing, survival horror and stealth that invites players to explore the hugely popular The Walking Dead universe. In this title players will be in the role of survivors fending for themselves in a post-apocalyptic world dominated by flesh-eating walkers.

State of Decay 2

State of Decay 2 is the sequel to the 2013 video game, State of Decay. Set in an open world environment and featuring cooperative gameplay with up to three other players, this game is fun for everybody. Players can experience facing off against hordes of zombies through a third-person view. The game is currently being developed by Undead Labs and is set to release some time this year for Windows 10 and Xbox One.

This year is shaping up to be the best year for zombie video games and soon enough we will be able to face off against these hordes of flesh-eating monsters in never-ending battles.
