Nintendo Switch Will Not Have Netflix and Other Streaming Apps at Launch

With all eyes on Nintendo’s new baby, the Nintendo Switch, news keeps piling in about which games and apps are going to be accompanied with the system itself.

Today, Nintendo has confirmed that video streaming will not be on the Switch at lunch but will possibly be on the Switch at some point in the future.

A Nintendo representative stated that “all of our efforts have gone toward making the Nintendo Switch system an amazing dedicated video game platform, so it will not support any video-streaming services at launch. However, support for video-streaming services is being considered for a future update.”
Clearly, it seems that Nintendo really wants to focus on making a gaming system while in recent years most consoles have been catered towards a one-stop-shop for all services. While streaming services such as Netflix and Hulu are at its prime, the Switch seems to be catered towards hardcore gamers that want to play the game and not have all the other dings and whistles.
