The 5 Games That Feature The Most Brutal Deaths

Video games sometimes feature some horrific deaths.

Video game graphics have been imporving year after year and very occasionally, a new video game features some truly horrifying and disturbing deaths. With horror games becoming increasingly more popular, it makes sense that gaming developers want to one-up their competition and make their games as scary and as disturbing as possible. It's not just horror games that feature brutal deaths though, game series's such as Mortal Kombat are no stranger to making you cringe after an insane fatality kill. Here are the top 5 most brutal deaths in video game history.

Mortal Kombat X

Well, we did mention Mortal Kombat in the introduction, so lets start off with it. It's likely that when you were a kid, Mortal Kombat was the first video game that your parents didn't allow you to play because of the brutality and graphic nature. The game features "fatalities", which is essentially the end of the fight between you and your opponent and they usually feature some pretty weird and sickening deaths. You can witness bodies being mangled so horribly that they look like spaghetti, heads cut in half, and brains being pulled from the skull in just about any fight you enter. Mortal Kombat is arguably one of the most gruesome and brutal video game franchises in history, with each installment of the series growing more and more violent.

YouTuber, DeathMule, has uploaded 10 of the more brutal fatalities in Mortal Kombat X. You can watch the video below to get an understanding on just how much violence is shown within the game.

Friday The 13th

Friday The 13th is a new game that gives players the opportunity to play as one of the most infamous villains in history, Jason Voorhees. The goal of the game is to hunt down innocent campers, who are other players in the game and kill them all. From heartlessly crushing their skulls, gouging their eyes out, and ripping them apart with pitchforks, Friday The 13th has it all. It feels like the game version of Friday The 13th definitely steps things up from the movie and we assure you that you'll be squinting at your screen with some of the disturbing ways you can murder your victims.

God Of War 3

The God Of War series has always featured some interesting ways to kill your enemies, but with God Of War 3, it felt like the ways to kill your enemies was a lot more throughout from the developers. From cutting off limbs to slicing your enemies from the inside out, God Of War 3 has it all. After you watch the clip below, you get a really good understanding as to why the next God Of War title is so highly anticipated.

Outlast: Whistleblower

Outlast, one of the all time greatest horror games to ever hit the shelves had  the Whistleblower DLC, that might have one upped the original game. If you’ve ever wanted to be scarred again, and again, and again, then Outlast: Whistleblower is right up your alley. The clip we provided, which is very NSFW to say the least, is just one of the multiple gruesome deaths. From bodies literally imploding, to heads being microwaved, every new death you can experience is even more brutal and inhumane than the last. Seriously, this games DLC is next-level graphic.

The sequel to Outlast, Outlast 2 scheduled to release March 2017.

Manhunt 2

Although Manhunt 2 is a fairly old game, it still has to go down as one of the most gruesome. Manhunt 2 definitely isn’t one of Rockstar Games’ most popular titles, but it is without a doubt, the most gruesome, brutal, and horrific game. Sure Mortal Kombat might go above on beyond with their deaths, sawing people in half with swords and all, but what makes Manhunt 2’s deaths so awful is the realism. These deaths aren’t some quick gunshot to the head or knife to the heart, you can physically choke out enemies until they take their dying breath, saw off limb after limb until there’s nothing but chunks left, and make people eat road flares for breakfast. Do we need to explain more?

So, you feel guilty yet? Might we suggest some cute puppy compilations or an episode of America’s Funniest Home Videos to console your traumatized heart and mind?

Let us know what you think will be the next brutal game that will make you need a night light whilst sleeping down below!
