The newest World War 2 shooter to enter the FPS category is Battalion 1944, which is now under the helm of Square Enix. Bulkhead Interactive, Battalion 1994’s developer recently came out with a statement saying Call of Duty is bound to go back to World War 2 in its next title, and it seems Joe Brammer and the rest of the Bulkhead Interactive team wants to try and compete with Call of Duty as much as possible in the upcoming year. Battalion 1944 is set to be released this Summer on Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
The original release trailer for Battalion 1944 can be seen below.
In the upcoming weeks and months, we’re bound to see even more Battalion 1944 gameplay and information released with both PAX east and E3 2017 right around the corner.
Battalion 1944 originated as an indie shooter on Kickstarter and raised nearly half a million dollars in funding. And with that massive backing, Bulkhead Interactive stated they want to create a game that competes with the biggest and best AAA shooters including Call of Duty, Battlefield, and Destiny.
Now that Square Enix has taken on the publishing role, Battalion 1944 is sure to be a big threat to other FPS titles in the upcoming year and we hope to see both Bulkhead Interactive and Square Enix take full advantage of the opportunity at hand.
