Arguably the most popular subject Call of Duty fans are talking about right now, is the possibility of DLC 5 for Black Ops 3. Believe it or not, this is the exact same subject we’ve seen brought up before in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 around four years ago.
So why is DLC 5 rumored? The hope of a DLC 5 first came when Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare was released and fans didn't enjoy the title and therefore wanted to see some additional DLC from Treyarch Games. More specifically, fans wanted to see a continuation of the zombies storyline by the team releasing a DLC 5. Unfortunately, a DLC 5 never released, but now four years on, fans are hoping that once again a DLC 5 is just around the corner, only this time for Black Ops 3. Depsite all the the apparent leaks though, we think DLC 5 is not going to happen.
The first reason for us to feel this way is because history repeats itself, what we mean by this is that Treyarch had the chance to release a DLC 5 for Black Ops 2, but they chose to not do that. Black Ops 3 is close to being in the same position Black Ops 2 was in 2013, a high player count, (sometimes higher than the current Call of Duty) many people still interested in more content and of course people interested in a DLC 5. So, why would Treyarch release a DLC 5 now when they could’ve done it four years ago? Black Ops 2 was/is one of the most successful Call of Duty’s and Activision knew that, they also knew that they could make a lot more revenue from a DLC 5 but they still chose not to release/make a DLC 5. Currently, DLC packs make way less revenue than the infamous supply drops, so if DLC 5 is actually a thing, they would most likely turn it into a more profitable DLC item, like supply drops.
A big reason why people believe DLC 5 is actually coming to Black Ops 3 is because of multiple youtubers claiming they received some leaked information about DLC 5 from a very credible source. Unfortunately they didn’t show or explain the leaked information they received so how do we know if it even exists or if it’s true? We’re not saying this because we don’t trust those youtubers, the only reason why we say this is because why would we trust something without a source or anything close to it.
A while ago, in a Treyarch stream, Jason Blundell shared some information about what we’ll be seeing in Black Ops 3 this year and kind of trolled the community by saying ‘’I am afraid I cannot say anything right now.’’ but he did say we’ll be seeing new content/features coming to Black Ops 3 Zombies but this doesn’t necessarily mean that ‘that new content/feature’ is DLC 5. We already received the first new feature, Newtons Cookbook, which is cool new feature allowing you to create gobblegums from gobblegums you already own. If you watched the livestream, you probably know that Jason Blundell actually gave us a clue; Blundell said that we’ll be getting new feature(s) in 2017 kind of confirming DLC 5 isn’t going to happen.

Is that enough to kind of debunk the DLC 5 rumors? Like we said, we don’t think DLC 5 is going to happen but we might be completely wrong about this, you never know.
What do you think, are we getting DLC 5 or is it just like what we saw in Black Ops 2? Let us know down below!
