Gamestop is impressed by the Xbox Scorpio

Is Microsoft making a comeback with the Xbox Scorpio?

GameStop, one of the biggest retailers in the world shared their expression about Microsoft’s Xbox Scorpio and say they’re impressed by it, GameStop believes the Scorpio will receive great games as well as great exclusives to ensure a successful launch.
GameStop’s most recent financial earnings call reveals that the Nintendo Switch and Playstation’s VR are doing well but here’s what Paul Raines said about Microsoft’s Xbox Scorpio:

‘’In physical gaming there have been cyclical declines without question, but we have very strong cards to play in Nintendo Switch, Sony VR and Microsoft Scorpio.’’

This of course doesn’t mean that GameStop guarantees the Xbox Scorpio will do well but GameStop is expecting the Xbox Scorpio will bring in high sale numbers and do quite well.

Tony Bartel, retailer’s Chief Operating Officer, talked about GameStop’s sales expectations for 2017 during the investor call. He expressed his enthusiasm for Microsoft’s Xbox Scorpio and said that it’s going to be a ‘’gamer friendly’’ console. Tony Bartel said: ‘’Finally, we’re impressed with the Microsoft Scorpio product.’’ Bartel goes on to say that he believes the Scorpio is a ‘’gamer friendly powerful console’’ which will, hopefully ensure revenue when it launches.

Bartel was asked about why he thinks that and why he thinks the Scorpio will be a successful console, Bartel replied to this question and said that the Xbox Scorpio is a really powerful console made for 4K-gaming.

Bartel: “Unfortunately we can’t talk about a lot other than what’s know.’’ Bartel goes on to say the Scorpio is “a very powerful system that’s really made for 4K. We see it (as) a very gaming centric, very, very powerful unit and so we do believe that there will be some great games that are made for this.’’

We believe this brings some hope to Xbox fans who kind of lost their interest in Xbox after the Xbox One but still want to see a powerful Xbox console.

The Xbox One is coming later this year, we currently don’t know the actual release date but we’re quite sure Microsoft is going to reveal this at E3 which is in June

Let us know what you think about the Xbox Scorpio and stay tuned on levelcamp for more information about the Xbox One and more!
