The past several days have been pretty interesting for Call of Duty, with several leaks claiming the next Call of Duty title will be called Call of Duty: WW2. Up until now, these leaks have not been proven fake and as such, it's believe that they are indeed real.
If the leak is true, Call of Duty: WW2 will finally be the Call of Duty title we've all been waiting for (goodbye jet packs). Whatever the next title may be though, we're bound to find out in the matter of weeks.
Every year, Call of Duty is reveal in early May and this years title may be no different. However, with the leaks happening a lot earlier than usual and with the hype surrounding Call of Duty at the moment, Activision may want to captilize on it. Activision are no strangers to releasing Call of Duty trailers early, in fact with Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, the reveal trailer was released several weeks early thanks to a number of leaks. Could we be seeing the same with Call of Duty: WW2? We think so.
As well as the title potentially already being revealed, it's no secret that this years title, Infinite Warfare, didn't live up to the predicted sales forecast that Activision intended. In Activision's Q4 earnings call, Activision made this obviously by stating "the game did not live up to expectation and although Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered boosted sales, they were still far less then predicted." In short, this likely means that in order for Activision to please its investors, releasing the reveal trailer for the next title a little bit earlier, may be the best move. The company needs to ensure that their stocks remain high and one of the best ways to do this is to show that the franchise is not going downhill and the franchise is actually likely to increase in sales once again.
All of these factors means that we could be getting the reveal trailer for Call of Duty: WW2 in just a few weeks, maybe towards the middle of April. The beginning of April does seem possible, but it's probably going to be used for Infinite Warfare's 2nd DLC release trailer.
